Certification

The ABVA has moved forwards considerably in the last few years and one area that has taken a while to perfect has been the ABVA’s Certificate of Safety and Competence in Veterinary Acupuncture.

The aim of the ABVA has always been to provide excellence in veterinary acupuncture education and we feel that we now need to provide a certification to reflect this.

Certification will be awarded on the completion of the following:

  • attendance of the ABVA Foundation Course, Equine Foundation Course or an equivalent number of CPD hours on an alternatvie veterinary acupunture course
  • completion of a case log of 40 cases
  • completion of a case report
  • successful pass in in an online, open book multiple choice exam
  • successful pass in an oral discussion/viva either online or in person

Members must maintain their ABVA membership in order to complete the certification. Please note that this is not an RCVS accredited certificate.  Successful candidates may use the post-nominals CertSCVA after their MRCVS.

The ABVA Certificate of Safety and Competence in Veterinary Acupuncture has recently been reviewed and applications will be opened soon. Please check back for further information.
