Conditions in Horses that respond well to acupuncture include:

Horses

Back Pain (Acute/Chronic)

Lameness e.g. Tendonitis, Sesamoiditis, Laminitis and Navicular disease
Laminitis: Typically a lameness which is severe in nature and rapid in onset and which can affect one foot, two feet or all four feet. It is associated with inflammation of the interlocking leaves (laminae) which anchor the pedal bone inside the hoof capsule.
Navicular disease: Characterised by a chronic (long standing) lameness of the front feet. It is intermittent in nature and is often worse after exercise. The area of discomfort can be localised to the heels.

COPD
A non infectious condition of the airways in horses characterised by a narrowing of the small airways and increased mucous production in response to allergens in the environment.

Chronic gastrointestinal disease
Any unresolved diarrhoea or constipation

Post viral fatigue

Paralysis, muscle spasm
Characterised by an inability to move body part. It is most commonly seen in the tail, hind and front legs though it can affect specific muscle groups such as those of the face. These changes can be accompanied by loss of feeling in the affected area. The condition results from damage to the nerves that supply that area and may be either temporary or permanent depending on the severity of the damage.

Behavioral problems

Tendon injuries

Infertility
Characterised by an increased difficulty or a complete inability to conceive. It can result from either a problem with sperm production in the male or egg production and implantation in the female.

Chronic gastrointestinal disease
Any unresolved diarrhoea or constipation
